Blackboard's Assignment tool takes the place of collecting a stack of paper in the classroom or having students email you their documents and project files.
Availability
Blackboard assignments are available in both classic- and ultra-style courses.
How It Works
When an instructor creates an assignment on Blackboard, they can provide instructions, any necessary supplemental files -- a video to watch, a worksheet to complete, a case study to read. This also creates a place where students can either type their response directly into Blackboard or upload one or more files.
When you create the assignment, you also create a column in Blackboard's Grade Center (in a classic-style site) or Gradebook (ultra).
When students submit their assignments, you can view their submissions online or download the files for offline viewing through Blackboard's grading area.
