You can use an image from the internet and embed it in the Blackboard text box without first downloading the image and taking up precious Blackboard storage space.
Choose the Insert Content button which is available anywhere you find the toolbar and text box.
Choose Image.
Open a new browser tab (CTRL+T or CMD+T), and find the image you want. If you’re using Google, the easiest way to do this is by image search. Once you’ve found the image, right click it and choose Copy Image Address. For this example, I’m choosing an image of the Detroit Mercy campus.
Paste (CTRL+V, CMD+V, or right click and paste) your link into the Image URL field and click Insert to add your link. This is also a good time to add Alternative text for the visually impaired.
The image will now be embedded in your text box. Users will be able to view it without leaving the course site AND it won’t take up precise Blackboard storage space.
Be sure to save your changes.
