To enable SafeAssign on an assignment, open Submission Details in the Grading section of the Create Assignment page.
You will find a checkbox labelled "Check submissions for plagiarism using SafeAssign" under the Plagiarism Tools heading in the Submission Details box.
If you'd like your students to have access to the originality report as a teaching aide in discussing plagiarism and how to avoid it, check the appropriate box.
Collecting a Draft Submission?
Check Exclude Submissions from the Institutional and Global References Database
If the assignment you are creating is for draft submissions -- that is, if students will be making minor changes to their submission, then submitting the item again -- you should check the box labelled "Exclude submissions from the Institutional and Global References Database." This ensures that their final (or next draft) submission will not be compared to this first submission (which would result in SafeAssign report the item as nearly 100% plagiarized).
To enable SafeAssign on an assignment, click Enable SafeAssign under Originality Report at the bottom of the Assignment settings section of an assignment page.
This opens the Originality Report section of the Assignment Settings. Toggle Enable SafeAssign to on.
