Mia Hairston, CETL Program Coordinator
You may know CETL for providing workshops on a variety of educational topics or as the go-to for support services on all things academic technology. All in all, our goal is, and always has been, to support faculty in meaningful teaching and learning, and that support takes many forms. One resource faculty may not be as familiar with but may benefit from is the Knowledge section on the CETL website. This dedicated space provides a one-stop shop for instructional technology support, University standards, and even a place to make Blackboard service requests.
Instructional Technology Support
You registered to attend the CETL Summer Blackboard Ultra workshop series, but your agenda had other plans. There’s no need to fret because the Instructional Technology Support portion of the Knowledge section is just for you. Here, you can find information on common topics and step-by-step resources covering everything from adding and organizing content to Blackboard course sites, assessment tools, grades & grading. Each topic is further organized into subcategories including FYIs, essentials, guidelines, and walkthroughs, putting a wealth of tech support at your fingertips at any time.

University Standards
As midsemester approaches, you realize your syllabus is missing a required University statement and contains information that is now outdated. Where do you go to confirm what should be included? This sounds like a job for the University Standards portion of the Knowledge section. Here, faculty can reference McNichols Campus syllabus guidelines and required statements, along with information about University-supported learning management systems and related policies. These resources can help faculty review syllabi in alignment with current University expectations and identify what needs to be added, clarified, or updated.
