The House that Mercy Built

Date/Time:
February 19, 2024, 12:00 PM

Welcome to Catherine’s House, the first house of Mercy, now Mercy International Center, a place of hospitality, heritage, pilgrimage, and renewal. It is home to Mercy family from all over the world. After a three-year build, the house of Mercy was opened September 24, 1827 in response to the needs of the poor of Dublin, and dedicated to Mary, the Mother of Mercy. This house was a school for girls, a safe shelter for young women seeking employment, and a center of outreach to the sick and those in need. You are very welcome to come inside for a tour with Margaret Daly RSM.

This live presentation from Dublin, Ireland is being hosted by the McAuley School of Nursing with generous support from the Office of Mission Integration.

If you would like to learn more about Catherine McAuley prior to the presentation, please view the brief (23 minute) film below.
