This abbreviated, lunchtime session will explore how social annotation programs like Perusall and Hypothesis can be leveraged (in and outside of class) to bolster critical thinking and engagement in online, face-to-face, and Hyflex courses. After a brief review of current scholarship on the topic, we will highlight ideas for implementing social annotation assignments that will foster critical reading in courses across the disciplines and share sample assignment ideas.
