Session Description: Navigating the world of scholarly publishing presents many challenges to academic authors. This session will lead attendees through the publishing process from beginning to end. Session facilitators will begin by covering considerations of project design, move into an exploration of the journal selection process, and, finally offer guidance about writing the manuscript. The session will also highlight what steps to take after the first draft is written, including a behind-the-scenes look at the peer review process as well as how to best track and manage your citations once your articles have been published. The session will be rounded out with information about how to time the writing process to coincide with the promotion and tenure process as well as how to avoid some common errors. Participants will have time to ask questions about the process.
