Session Description: As Matthew Mio reveals, “I had the worst semester of my career teaching in the W22 term which led me to think that there had to be a better way. I read. A LOT. I thought. A LOT. I reflected. A LOT. I read some more. I think what I learned trying a new way of doing my course in the F22 term might help you!” During the session, the team will share their successes and challenges in implementing a variety of techniques and tools which fall under the category of alternative grading. By the end of this session, active participants should be able to define several alternative grading terms, recognize key concepts of alternative grading and prepare their students for the pedagogy of higher education and be prepared to put at least one strategy into practice immediately/next fall
