Presented by Janet Joiner
Session Description: The wellness industry is worth an estimated $700+ billion, with psychedelics a driving force. Psychedelics have shown efficacy with treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions. Detroit, Ann Arbor, Hazel Park, and Washtenaw County decriminalized psychedelics; the state legislature introduced a policy in 2021 to decriminalize psychedelics across Michigan. Universities are capitalizing financially on interest in psychedelics, offering courses/curricula and international Conferences on psychedelics, including Central Michigan University, Columbia University, University of MI (AA), Ohio State University, Univ. of Penn, Univ. of Wisconsin, and Wayne State University. Session participants will engage in an energy healing technique (tapping) and participate in a robust discussion about the movement toward offering psychedelics education for college credit.
