While conventional wisdom may suggest that we should not judge a book by its cover, the opposite is true. In fact, one important way that faculty can make sure that students truly engage with course content and documents (including syllabi, worksheets, presentations, etc.) is by implementing elements of effective design. In this workshop, we will address key components of effective design for building course documents including font choice, layout, use of white space and columns, and the use of graphics such as photographs and representations of data. Information about accessibility will be provided as well.
