Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), occurs when learners from two or more professions learn with, from, and about each other to improve collaboration and health outcomes. This faculty development session will equip participants with practical, ready-to-implement strategies to integrate IPE into existing courses and learning experiences. Through interactive discussion and applied examples, participants will explore innovative initiatives currently implemented across the university, including human trafficking simulations, interdisciplinary assistive device design in collaboration with the College of Engineering, and a global health immersion experience in Ireland that emphasizes Mercy charisms and the legacy of Catherine McAuley. Emphasis will be placed on actionable approaches that enhance student engagement, strengthen team-based learning, and advance community wellness and population health outcomes.

Learning Objectives: Define interprofessional education, including its purpose, history, and alignment with the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) core competencies. Understand how to integrate interprofessional education competencies into existing course objectives to enhance interprofessional collaboration and learning outcomes. Discuss the design of interprofessional learning experiences that foster collaboration across disciplines to promote team-based care and community wellness.
