Are you ready to create a vibrant learning environment where all students feel welcome, engaged, and empowered? This interactive session will equip participants with the knowledge and strategies to foster inclusivity in their teaching. During the session, we will share core concepts of inclusive teaching and strategies to create a welcoming and accessible learning environment; we will then explore how to navigate potential challenges to inclusivity in your classroom, from diverse learning styles to unconscious bias. We will demonstrate how to leverage our LMS platform to design and deliver inclusive courses, incorporating accessible materials and promoting equitable participation. Participants will have time to discuss and work on developing their methods to adapt curriculum and assignments to cater to a wider range of learners.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Define inclusive teaching and its significance in contemporary education.
  • Proactively address potential inclusivity issues in their courses.
  • Utilize the Blackboard LMS to empower diverse learners and promote accessibility.
  • Develop inclusive curriculum and assignments that engage and benefit all students.

The CETL will provide light snacks/refreshments during this session.
