SSC provides peer conducted, academic support to students by means of one-on-one tutoring facilitated both online and in person. Remediation can also be provided by way of the learning studios which are weekly study sessions held in a group format. Listed below are the various programs offered by SSC and with new staffing in place even more services will be offered all geared toward academic achievement.
Student Programming
Home to several student programs with a specific purpose, whether it be an additional support system for first generation students, or a network for navigating interests in a variety of career paths, SSC has a program in store. Listed below are programs that provide professional mentorship and a general sense of community within the Student Success Center:
Academic Interest & Major Exploration (AIME)
First Gen Network
Health Exploration (HEX)
King-Chavez Parks Programs
TutorTrac
The days of Accucampus are no more. TutorTrac is the new software to be used for all student tutoring needs. With this software students can gain access to appointment scheduling of tutors by specific subject. Need to log visits , track the activity of a special population or keep a record of required sessions or workshops? This is not an issue as TutorTrac is equipped to support all of these functions and more.
DSS Services
Do you have documented students in need of disability support services? SSC provides disability and accessibility accommodations to ensure students have equal access to university courses, programs and activities. All DSS concerns can be forwarded to pittsccm@udmercy.edu.
Testing Services
Concerns about testing? The Student Success Center offers placement testing which can be paired with developmental coursework as a supplemental resource. In addition, the testing center can be used to provide accommodations for students who have been out sick or traveling athletes in need of make-ups. Please forward all email inquiries in regards to the Testing Center to ssc@udmercy.edu.
