President’s Convocation, Student Fitness Center

This signature campus-wide event officially opens the academic year. You will hear from President Donald Taylor, University leadership, and key campus stakeholders. Convocation is an inspiring and energizing gathering where we celebrate our collective mission and honor faculty and staff milestones. Attendance is encouraged as part of your welcome to the community.

Wednesday, August 20 – New Faculty Onboarding | Day One, Student Union, William Young Board Room
Join us for a full day of connection, orientation, and resource sharing. This onboarding experience is designed to welcome new faculty into our mission-driven community, highlight essential campus resources, and build relationships that support your success.

Tuesday, August 26 – Mission Retreat | Day Two, Student Union, Loft Dining Room 231 As part of your onboarding journey, the Mission Retreat offers a reflective and engaging introduction to the values that shape our academic community. Grounded in our Mercy and Jesuit traditions, this session explores how faculty can meaningfully live out the University’s mission through teaching, service, and presence.

Colleague Development Days are University-wide professional development sessions open to all faculty and staff. This multi-day event features workshops and panels on innovative teaching strategies, technology integration, student engagement, wellness, and more. CDD is a great opportunity to learn, collaborate, and begin building relationships across disciplines.
