Online Session Description: Mentorship is a critical aspect of community building in higher education. Successful mentorship also is crucial as faculty undergo the promotion and tenure process. In this session, the Faculty Development Team will provide an overview of scholarship and research regarding mentorship before providing information about existing formal mentorship programs at Detroit Mercy’s campuses and exploring the key components of informal mentorship. The session will close with a discussion with attendees to identify current needs for mentorship across the disciplines and Detroit Mercy campuses.
