Online courses offer many advantages for students and professors, however, different modalities have their own nuances that need to be addressed to make the most of engagement. In this discussion-based session, we will provide several strategies and quick assignments based on constructivist learning theories to encourage student participation in online synchronous classes. We encourage attendees to bring some of their best strategies for engaging students in synchronous online courses to share with the group.
