All Detroit Mercy faculty have been granted free membership with the National Center for Faculty Diversity and Development.

The organization contains a number of resources for faculty at all levels.

This month, the CETL and the Faculty Development Team will be hosting a special online event regarding academic perfectionists through NCFDD’s video series. The event will include screening an NCFDD presentation about academic perfectionism which outlines the causes and consequences of excessive perfectionism and how academic life may intensify perfectionism. The presentation also reviews strategies to identify when perfectionism is at work, assess whether it is helpful or debilitating, and adjust standards and behavior accordingly.

In addition to the film screening, attendees will have opportunities to pause for discussion to engage with the content and discuss the impacts of perfectionism in their respective bodies of work.
