Summer Workshop: AI Generated Test Questions
Date/Time:
Monday August 5, 2024 11:00 am
Location:
McN Library TLC - R324
Creating good test questions can be a difficult and time-consuming process. To lighten the load, faculty often refer to pre-created question banks – such as those made by textbook publishers, testing services, and shared by peers. Blackboard’s AI Design Assistant provides another potential source for assessment questions. In this session, we’ll look at how we can use the Design Assistant to generate various types of questions based on our course material, and then refine them into questions that more accurately assess your students’ comprehension of the course material.

Summer Workshop: Kicking Off Rubric Creation with AI
Date/Time:
Tuesday August 6, 2024 10:00 am
Location:
McN Library TLC - R324

When provided alongside assignment instructions, rubrics are an excellent way to clearly communicate your expectations to students. When used to grade, rubrics you keep your scoring consistent across student submissions, and provide students with at least a minimal level of feedback on their performance. Unfortunately, Blackboard’s click-to-score rubrics can be a little tedious to construct – lots of little boxes to type or paste into. That’s where Blackboard’s AI Design Assistant can really help. In this session, we will look at how we can use the Design Assistant to streamline our clickable rubric creation process, putting you in the position of only needing to refine recommended text to suit your assessments, rather than type the whole thing out from scratch.
